University of Freiburg students are actively involved in numerous study groups, initiatives, and ensembles in support of their training and social causes. To provide funding for field trips, participation in conferences, the organization of cultural events, alumni prizes for students, Alumni Freiburg e.V. has teamed up with the faculties to develop application and selection procedures that make it possible to award university-wide funding for student projects in the form of grants. Examples of such projects are Studitz (the Faculty of Medicine’s student training center), the Student Orchestra and the University Big Band, and the student helpline “Nightline e.V.” With this support for students and their projects, Alumni Freiburg e.V. promotes early-career researchers and strengthens the bond between the University of Freiburg and its former students.
