Alumni Freiburg e.V. awards an annual prize of €2,000 to students or student groups that either take innovative measures to improve the living, studying, and working conditions of students at the university, or those who engage in outstanding volunteer work for social organisations in society.
Application and Award Procedure 2025
Students and staff of the university, as well as those from the student services, can submit their proposals to the alumni representatives of the faculties or directly to the office of Alumni Freiburg e.V. by 6 June 2025. The proposed candidates or groups must be enrolled at the University of Freiburg (proof of enrolment must be attached to the application).

The Board of Alumni Freiburg e.V. will review the proposals and determine the award recipient according to the association’s procedural guidelines. The chair is held by the rector.
